You can tell the weather is better when all the nice cars come out of the garage and everyone in town thinks they need to race from red lights.

So kobraa

Funny you should mention:

My wife met me at the shop today so i could acidbath her wheels on the firebird. (Just the 3800)
We were on our way home when we caught a redlight, she pulled up beside me and revved, she wanted to race. which totally gave me a chubby cuz she never beats on her bird.
I was into it cuz ive been curious how the two would compare side by side.
So yay light goes green, off to a good start perfect 1-2 shift, perfect 2-3 shift, and im leading quite nicely, at about 5500 rpm, i lost power. "Engine power reduced" and a p2101 shot up on me. I had to pull over. As it had totally died!
Started it up a few times to putter and die back out.
3rd time started fine w. No EPR displayed.
I attempted to replicate the conditions the rest of the way home and it wouldnt do it again.....

So guess ill bring it in the shop tomorrow and start troubleshooting.
I hate not having throttle cables

Well.... had the car out for the first time yesterday, and wouldn't you know it, a new Dodge Ram tried to race me.

Freight trained his ass like he was standing still. He learned a lesson yesterday that not all sport compacts have fart cans and 150hp.

Optimum Coatings makes a plastic coat product that seems to be well reviewed from experienced detailers, I use Opti Coat 2.0 which they have updated and divided into 2 product streams (paint and lens versions)

Yup, I told myself to drive relaxed on my way home from work, but how can you pass up showing a d-bag in a truck to respect blown 4 cylinders, lol.

I'm kinda glad oil prices have gone down, the number of d-bags in lifted trucks has decreased out here

Bet you have a throttle body starting to go.
P2101

The ECM detects a 4–50 percent difference between the commanded and the actual throttle plate position, dependant upon the rate of commanded throttle movement. The condition exists, then a 5 second delay for MIL ON.
straight out SI. If you have access to a tech 2, command the throttle body in 10% increments closed to wot and i bet it will start twitching and give you reduced power

Be careful not to move the butterfly valve by hand

Oh?
This is news for me.
I have cleaned many electronic TBs
Mostly on mitsubishi and suzuki, but never heard about not moving it by hand.
Is this a GM Thing or something I just totally missed all together and have been uber lucky?

Its hard on any electronic throttle body to move them by hand. Its just plastic gears that move them. Easy to strip.

Does anyone know if the hid shrouds that you can get from the retro fit source could/should be powder coated? I'm asking cause I want to get them painted the same color as my wheels

Why not just paint them? Powdercoating plastic doesn't seem like a great idea.

What is the bake temp used by your powder coater? Also get b-stocks if your not staying chrome.

Well the problem is I want them to be the same color as my wheels, and I figured might as well take them with me when I take my wheels to get powder coated but you may be right. Unsure of what temp that the wheels will be baked at. I just have to try and match my shrouds once I get my wheels powder coated then

Ask your powder coater if he can do plastic, there are powders for plastic coating that fix at a lower temp.

Also for paint matching you wheels are far enough away from the shrouds you only have to get close

I picked it up off amazon, I think it was some place it Florida that was selling through amazon. I picked it up like 1.5-2 years ago. You can always get started on polishing them order the sealant and then fine polish right before you seal them.
