My car is in the dealership getting the fuel pump recall done. Dad had to take the car for me. I wish I had it back. I hate driving loaner cars

This week I have replaced the fuel lines signal lights and a door handle. The replacement door handle broke every part it was connected to, except the cable, and then snapped on the first pull. I now need a new interior door panel, door handle, cable plastic clip piece and door handle plastic fascia clipped panel... All this joy and only 10 miles on the car this week. As usual, this cobalt is in shambles, while the other one drives around with ease and no maintenance needs.

This week's per-mile cost stands at $55/mile, not yet including the cost of the door panel et al.

Might get my tijn trunk on this week and spend some more time on alignment of the hood. Driver life leaves no time for cobalt right now.

Tried to do a brake job, Pins we seized.. i mean like WELDED in there and I tried everything ...except disassembling the brakes because I just don't have time for that crap anymore... so I took it to the dealer* and we found out both my Brembo's have been barely functional for God knows how long... I need two new Calipers... good times (yes I went and saw them on the hoist)

*yes I took it to a dealer...Lately I really just dont like working on the car, My Dad has worked at this dealer since forever, I've worked there a few summers, I know everyone there well and I get special pricing.

took them off the rotors and found out they weren't doing a whole lot.. the PS side was completely siezed and the drivers side was barely functional.

Always thought the brakes felt sorta shitty in this car but maybe I was just so desensitized to it...

Helped a friend move with a 4x8x4 box trailer in tow. Got up to 217°F pulling up a hill on the freeway with the A/C on but didn't run into any other issues. Something more aerodynamic would be nice, but it works.

Replaced the starter, which was a 1 year old refurb unit.
The brand new unit I put in spins MUCH faster.

Also the top bolt is such a PITA to get back in.

I did my starter recently as well and I can agree with this. There's like 5 different things in the way.

Installed my OTTP shirt shifter and installed the solid base bushings ... and replaced My antenna base ( that I broke when trying to remove my factory antenna that had NEVER been taken off since 2005)... and installed a shorty antenna on the new base.

Love the shifter(look and the feel) and love the way the shorty antenna turned out.

Took a couple pics. Stock shifter vs OTTP.... and the antenna. Excuse the dirty car (inside and out)... Started softball this week... and all 3 kids are playing baseball.... been QUITE busy

How is that shorty for radio reception?

It's harder with a dual pass too because the IC pump hoses aren't as long and flexible.
Oh yeah, and that whole intercooler thing built into the IM doesn't help either lol.

Its actually awesome. I have one station that was already kinds fuzzy with my OEM antenna that I pretty much lost entirely with this one.... but that's it.

Reception on every other station I used works the same.

Luckily this antenna came with 3 different adapters for thread pitch.... because once I bought my new antenna base... it came with thicker threads... and the antenna itself wouldn't thread onto it. But one of the 3 adapters worked perfect. Great purchase. Bought it at O Realley Auto Parts for like $16

Good to know. I have one of the real short ones and it doesn't do very well. It looks great but doesn't really pull in anything
