What is the length of the factory muffler
 

I am replacing the muffler on my 07 lt. When I measure it it seems to be 36" in length. GM parts book says it is 20" in length. I bought a new muffler but from tip to tip is 18" what is the actual length of the muffler and all I have tip do is add an extra pipe to get the extra length for the smaller muffler?

yeah, pretty much add piping to make it long enough

I never measured, but 36 inches? that's 3 feet, your saying your stock muffler measured 3 ft? like almost half of the car ?
