What is stance?

Hi guys I see lots of references to stance, but what is it? Is it a stance you pose in when taking pictures with your car?

breds2k 04-23-2012 10:37 AM

JOE! help this dude out.

stance. lowering your car to within about an inch of the ground. using SUPER wide wheels with skinnier tires that are stretched wider. thats basically it.

JacBlackSS/TC 04-23-2012 10:42 AM

stance is a ricer forum word lol
but it refers to the fitment your car has
whether its slammed to the ground with camber
or flush with fenders
or even lowered with fat tires

it just depends, but when most say stance they mean a low car

breds2k 04-23-2012 10:43 AM

theres alot of bad examples of stance this is a good one:

TommyP 04-23-2012 12:36 PM

It's how the car sits on the ground, and how the wheels sit in relation to the body.

Hi H8r's

drumrush 04-23-2012 01:20 PM

Driving your car hard doesnt necessarily mean your car is good at it

riceburner 04-23-2012 01:21 PM

i used to like stance but then i took a sewercap to the bumper

Notice how he said undriveable. Far from undriveable. It actually handles quite well.

you are right it could be set up to handle better but if people are happy with the way it looks and can still go out and have a shit ton of fun on the auto-x course then they are doing it right. not everything is about being in 1st place. its about enjoying your car every moment of it.

EXsoccer1921 04-23-2012 01:42 PM

But Josh, neither you nor Nate are running ridiculous amounts of stretch or so much camber that only 10% of your tire is on the ground. I wouldn't call either of your cars undriveable just because they are low. But you gotta admit that some of the examples of stance that we see are not something you could drive hard.
