ZZP CAI intake problems

Hi guys, this is my first post although I come here a lot to read stuff. I'm pretty new to modding and car maintenance in general so bear with me.

I bought the 3in CAI from ZZP for my car, and now it will not go faster than about 10 mph. I put it in yday and drove it about 10miles and it seemed to run fine, although it seemed to kind of lag everytime I shifted gear. When I got back I smelled burning plastic and there was smoke coming from the space between the battery and engine. At this point it was late so I left it alone to today.

I started it up today and let it warm up, then took it around the block, and learned I cant accelerate past 10mph. The burning plastic smell is still there. Any ideas what could be causing this?

2007 SS/SC btw. thanks for any help

Do you mean the fuse box? The battery is in the trunk.

man thts a bummer..... sounds like you may have arched something out when installing. Where there is smoke there is probably damage of some kind. did you pull the cover off the fuse box and look around? is the intake touching anything?

When I installed mine I did notice that they have it routed extremly tight to things but there is clearance if you get it fitted right.

All good. Just making sure it wasn't coming from the cabin lol. But does sound like an electrical issue because I highly doubt a cai will make a car smoke like that lol.
