Thumbs up Change the horn!!!!!

I have a fairly simple mod, for all those who are tired of your wimpy little horn!

It will fit in any model 100%

I replaced mine with an 06 Monte Carlo horn.. I wanted the nice dual horn tone and I wanted it to be more of a factory upgrade. If the horn is from an 06 and newer model the plug is the same, so you can just plug it right in!!

05 and Older style malibu or impala horns do not have the same plug so you will have to do some splicing.

The only thing you need to do now is make it fit in the space provided!!!!

The horn is located below the driver's side headlight, the instructions on taking the light and housing out are in another thread somewhere on here!

Take off the horn and bracket, then take the horn off of the bracket. you will need to use the original bracket with the new horn and bracket for it to fit correctly.

rearrange the horns on the bracket to look kind of like in these pictures.

unbolt the left side horn and FLIP it to the back side of the bracket and make sure you loosen up the bolt on the right side horn so you have some slack in the wiring.

Bolt the original adapter to new set up as in picture

this way it will clear your fog lights and will look sorta like it came stock when its in the car.... you will also have ease of access to the plug aswell

In the picture below the bottom horn is the right side horn in the stock monte carlo picture (first picture in the thread)...just to kinda give you an idea of how everything is now positioned

Bolt it back in the same spot the original one was in and tighten it up however you want it and your finished.

I angled the horns down a little so they won't have any chance of collecting water when it rains

Now honk your horn with pride!!!!!!!!!!!

Notice no clearance issues!!!!! and looks like was put there from the factory

If you go to GM and get the horns for a 2000 Cady that were special order for them you get 4 horns! Thoes 4 horns together sound like a train!

I love my new car, but I hate the girly horn!

A couple questions:
1. Any reason why a replacement horn wouldn't fit or work on an 08 SS/TC?

2. Do you know if an 06+ Cadillac horn has the same connector? I really don't want to be splicing wires on a car with less than 1k miles, but I want a bigger horn!

will work 100% on an SS/TC since the air box is the same as a 2.2 and 2.4
not sure on the cadillac horn because they often use a 4 horn set up at least that is what they in the old days....good question!!!!!

Yeah, I know back in the day they did, but I wasn't sure about the newer ones, and if they used the same connector.

If not, it's not too big a deal, I can just use the "normal" horn from an Impala or something similar. It'd be nice to have the big Caddy horn, though.

Very nice choice. Caddy horns are loud as hell. Crown vic would be my second choice.

i think i'll do this today after my oil change. I bought a compact airhorn that is supposed to plug right in. Not sure about wiring it in to the duel set up though.

good thread!

our horns suck! I'm much better off reving than hitting that little bicycle horn. the horn on my motorcycle is twice as loud.

Any more info on the Caddy horn fitment? Loved the horn on my '89 DeVille..

So you're basically looking at a simple unbolt, unplug, arrange, plug in, bolt in type process..?
