DO NOT FILL UP TO THE HOLE (this leads to very bad things)

this type of misinformation is why i tell everyone to leave it alone!!!!!!

If you recovered 3oz, that is exactly correct, you did not loose any oil

TVS_SS knows what he's talking about people. I'd listen if I were you.

Oh... and TVS_SS, I think I have a friend with a Silver, wingless, base model. Lemme check, I'll see if they'll be willing to trade.

Thanks for the info. I took out 5oz. once you told me. It seems kinda funny how everyone else on the site tells you to fill it to the top. Thanks for helping out.

eh yea dont fill to the hole.... Thats kinda dumb.

the SC isnt THAT temperamental on oil evidently. Im almost at the 10,000 mile mark and still have 6 oz in there.

So,

B.S. to anyone who says more than 3 oz will destroy our SC and make it do evil crap.

lol.. ok but you dont road race your car or even give the SC a workout then..

you dont have to take my word for it... but i have a feeling that you are basing your whole opinion on a statistical sample population of 1...

ok, it is your car afterall.. you can put 5 gallons in it.

I'll just say there is a reason it has a certain oil level from the factory.. and its from alot more than 1 unit tests...

but what do i know.. oh well.

whoa... hold up

im not saying your full of **** because i know your not....

but 3oz vs 6 isnt blowing gaskets. I dont think it is as sensitive as some proclaim. Ill keep it in there until it blows up... then im getting a tvs.

This cracks me up, show me 1 document from GMs "Service Information" that gives you a service intervale, part # of the proper oil or procedure for changing it. There are none. That oil part# if for the older 3.8l superchargers, the m62 we have is filled with a synthetic. Eaton doesn't even recommend changing it, as well as GM, hmmm. Also to fill it to the proper level you need to remove the SC and lay it flat on the bench, then fill it to the bottom of the hole, this will be around 3oz, just FYI.

i agree with njbluess. I have an 05 arrival ss supercharged ( not a stage 2) ( well from what people tell me and from what i no) with 37,000 miles on it, bone stock, and it runs stong as **** (besides my clutch starting to slip.). the person who had this car before me did something i have no clue what, but i raced stock ss/sc and smoked them by like 2 or more cars. i also raced stage 2's with modes and beat them 2 times. from a light. if anyone can tell me whats up with my car please do so, cuz i want to no.

these are the other cars i beat to.(a 94 v8 mustang gt supercharges with some cobra parts.) (2.2L turbo mx6 with mods) (93 or 94 civic hatch eg with fully built all motor h22, suspention and other ****.) (an 06 sti, from a light to like 125 mph, by 1 car. i think he was a bad driver.) and other cars cant remember at the time.
I would get it dynod but i whant to get a new clutch first and some mods on.

I e-mailed eaton supercharger info and they told me 3.4-3.5oz. I am going to stick to this; many of you have put 6 oz. in and maybe its working fine for you and thats great, but the rep told me 3.4oz. so thats what i'll put in.

Hey, so I was just reading through this thread and I wanted to comment on a few random things (sorry). First, kawategra98, you're right. a ton of places recommend you change your s/c oil at around 40k miles once you're pulling higher hp. Its not a huge deal. Once you start working you blower harder you'll find that your coupler will go out (that's what that rattling noise is at an idle). You need to pull the snout off to replace that, which means changing the oil. Just sayin....

i think my coupler might have gone out then.. the oil change thing came on, i opened the hood and it sounds like the sc is making a slight grinding noise.. my car is at 60k so i think i might need to fix this and change the oil... where do u get the coupler at?
