How To: Install Custom Vehicles On Garmin GPS

Hey guys, some of you might not use this but i figured it was information i can share.

first off theres many websites to download custom cars for your gps but this site is the best http://www.vehiclesforgarminnuvi.com/

Download the vehicle to your desktop you would like to choose off a website for this tut, i used a yellow ss/tc

once you download the vehicle to your desktop, it is in a .zip format you must extract it.

once you extract the folder there should only be one file there with the .srf extension

How to Install:

1. Connect your Garmin GPS device to your computer.
2. Click Download.
3. Click Open, if necessary.
4. Click Extract.
5. Browse to find the “Garmin/vehicle” folder on the Garmin drive. You may need to create the vehicle folder.
6. Double-click the Unplug or Eject icon in your system tray. Click Stop, and then click OK.
7. Unplug the USB cable from your Garmin GPS device.

How to change your ride on the GPS:

1. On your GPS device, touch Settings.
2. Select Map.
3. Select Vehicle.
4. Choose your new vehicle.

ENJOY!

SWEET! I tried to do this on my old garmin but failed and never saw a cobalt. I wish you could change the icon on the Pioneer units.

Different Colors

Hey Guys, I stumbled on this thread a few days after I bought my Garmin GPS. Not that driving a yellow cobalt on my gps was annoying, I just wanted to see my car in it. So, through photoshop and paint.net and after about 8 hours of frustration because adobe doesnt understand transparent backgrounds in PNG formats, The fruits of my labor, which i give to you.

also, i didnt pay for the file hosting site so you have to click on this url/add thing. then scroll down, fill a captcha and wait 30 seconds. but it is correct.
