How to paint your supercharger
Well after searching the how to forum to make sure no one had done one of these yet i decided to go ahead with it. It took me about five hours by myself and that includes three hours of drying time.
Things you will need:
1. Supercharger and tools to remove it and the attached components.
2. Masking Tape.
3. Dupli color high performance graphite wheel coating or paint of your choice (make sure its high temp and chip resistant)
4. Dupli color high performance clear coat wheel coating (optional but i recommend atleast three light coats)
5. Place to paint where nothing will mess up your paint job (shed, paint booth if available but i doubt it, etc)
6. Brake cleaner
Now onto the how to:
First step take off the supercharger and strip it of all its goodies.
the above sock in a vise pulley removal method is patent pending....
next tape everything off that you dont want any paint getting into.
then if you want to give the s/c housing a light sanding with some 600 grit but i didnt think it was necessary and i got some advice from a guy who did this before and he said his had been painted with this method for over a year with no chipping so i skipped the sanding step and went straight to cleaning the s/c housing with brake cleaner very thorougly. Dont rush this step you dont want any runs or anything because you were in a hurry cleaning i would suggest using a microfiber towel to get down in the nooks and crannies and dont be scared to give the hard spots to clean a good sprayin with the cleaner as many times as it takes to get it clean.
Next take the S/C to the painting area (shed for me)
follow the directions on the can and do a couple light coats of the graphite (pretty much gunmetal) with about ten minutes in between and then do a medium coat for your last one. Wait about thirty minutes and then hit it the same way with the clear coat (two thin coats ten minutes apart then another medium coat for the last one) and then let it dry for 2.5 to 3 hours before you handle it. Now strip off all of the tape and reinstall all of the components on the s/c and put it back on the car and enjoy the new look, they also make this paint in silver and flat black for you guys who dont like this graphite look..

New phones...ftw... ordered mine yesterday from Verizon, got here this morning... I was impressed with the turn around time. Ordered it and had it in hand and activated within 20 hours.

Just did this today with Dupli Color Silver metallic paint with clear coat, looks way better than the day i bought the car. Excellent how to I used 4 coats of clear coat. I almost like the silver metallic better than the gunmetal which i was leaning towards...i will post pics later
