I tried this the other day.. It looked good on both ends because I could drill holes and actually hold it up with bolts, but it looked sloppy where the bumper bends because the tape would show if you wanted the rubber to be flush and look sloppy if the tape couldn't be seen because there would be a huge gap. So I decided to say screw it. There was alot of plastic behind my bumper making it impossible to use screws the whole time..

CobaltDude81 07-18-2008 06:28 PM

does the lip help the MPG at all? ;)

Im usually a big fan of neat little ghetto mods like the airbox mod, or the diamond mesh grille...

but i cant get over the fact that it just looks like weather stripping stuck on the lip.

sorry, not feelin this one.

reminds me of that one guy on here who asked if a shorty antenna would help increase his gas mileage LOL!

StageII07 07-21-2008 06:49 PM

jeremie 07-21-2008 07:01 PM

its called home depot for a reason.

ssbalt06 08-13-2008 11:53 PM

alittle small for me but none the less a good inexpensive mod !

ItalianJoe1 08-13-2008 11:57 PM

Does it deflect at highway speeds? I would imagine it would move around quite a bit.

Supercharged06 08-14-2008 12:05 AM

it honestly doesnt look that bad

Super_SS 08-14-2008 12:09 AM

that doesnt make it ok for a cobalt :twothumbs. im jk, to each their own but there is a lot of stuff mustang owners do that i would never even think about doing, especially to a cobalt. just me personally, i would never put something from home depot on my car.

wanna bet my home depot catch can is better then any vendors catch can out their? and it only costed me 6 bux

warrenb213 08-16-2008 03:37 PM

this is a great solution.

and hell one could even apply paint/clear coat to it and make it even more beautiful.

Fixed.

It doesn't look bad, but I would never do it to my car.

beamSS 08-16-2008 06:58 PM

i wouldnt do it to my evo but to my civic? hells yea! home depot here i come

Cobalt2921 08-17-2008 03:43 PM

It wouldn't look good on my car. I have the LT. If I had an SS, I'd do it.

blackss2.0 08-19-2008 03:15 PM

i tried finding the hard rubber garage door bottom seal for my friends car the other day and we could only find nail on rubber not nail on hard rubber. We went to two home depots and a lows. Where can we find this nail on HARD rubber instead of just nail on rubber.

snake890217 08-19-2008 09:22 PM

I didn't even notice it was "hard" rubber. the stuff i used was like a foamy like rubber. Looks just like what he used. Came out fine. Can't say it looks as good on an LS as it does on an SS but still better than stock.

YELLOW_REVOLUTION 08-21-2008 04:50 PM

i wanna see it on the yellow car with black stripes!!!! WTF got me all excited then BAM!!! white cobalt lol

YelloEye 08-22-2008 04:17 PM

Sweet, might have to do this one.

FASTL61 08-22-2008 04:32 PM

i like it.it looks good on my LS

Luminaeus 08-26-2008 05:08 AM

It's tastefully done, quite unlike the honda civic I saw once that had a body kit made from PAINTED TIN ROOF GUTTERS.

aveoturbo 10-24-2008 08:57 PM

FASTL61 10-25-2008 04:54 AM

ive had it on for about 4months maybe

juststickit124 02-10-2009 06:05 PM

Ummm.....looks ok, but provides no benefit other then that. and I'm sure when you're driving you can see it folding at times. I've seen SCCA racers make them from those black strips that you would use in your garden/lawn to separate the soil from grass, anyone know what I mean? I just got a real CF one haha

ajjaro 02-10-2009 06:10 PM

hmm, the pictures show you installing it on a yellow car...?

Nope, it doesn't bend. Did it on my friends Mustang and it holds all the way to 145.

hossdeuce 03-23-2009 06:44 PM

i should do this to my ss sc :P

FASTL61 03-23-2009 07:05 PM

fakameanrepresent 05-24-2009 09:51 PM

i would of just kept it the way it was.

tru2nrtt777 05-25-2009 06:43 PM

Paint adheres to it? What kinda paint did you use?

Wow... first post 12/07 second post 6/08...

FASTL61 05-25-2009 06:51 PM

just spray paint

tru2nrtt777 05-25-2009 07:53 PM

So it wasjust a random silver? So colormatched would work right?

henry4565 05-26-2009 02:17 PM
