I tried this the other day.. It looked good on both ends because I could drill holes and actually hold it up with bolts, but it looked sloppy where the bumper bends because the tape would show if you wanted the rubber to be flush and look sloppy if the tape couldn't be seen because there would be a huge gap. So I decided to say screw it. There was alot of plastic behind my bumper making it impossible to use screws the whole time..

does the lip help the MPG at all? ;)

Im usually a big fan of neat little ghetto mods like the airbox mod, or the diamond mesh grille...
but i cant get over the fact that it just looks like weather stripping stuck on the lip. sorry, not feelin this one. |

its called home depot for a reason.
alittle small for me but none the less a good inexpensive mod !
Does it deflect at highway speeds? I would imagine it would move around quite a bit.
it honestly doesnt look that bad
good job on stealing the how-to off the srt forums...lol..but i have done it on my car and looks better than that

that doesnt make it ok for a cobalt :twothumbs. im jk, to each their own but there is a lot of stuff mustang owners do that i would never even think about doing, especially to a cobalt. just me personally, i would never put something from home depot on my car.
this is a great solution.
and hell one could even apply paint/clear coat to it and make it even more beautiful. |

It doesn't look bad, but I would never do it to my car. |
i wouldnt do it to my evo but to my civic? hells yea! home depot here i come
It wouldn't look good on my car. I have the LT. If I had an SS, I'd do it.
i tried finding the hard rubber garage door bottom seal for my friends car the other day and we could only find nail on rubber not nail on hard rubber. We went to two home depots and a lows. Where can we find this nail on HARD rubber instead of just nail on rubber.
I didn't even notice it was "hard" rubber. the stuff i used was like a foamy like rubber. Looks just like what he used. Came out fine. Can't say it looks as good on an LS as it does on an SS but still better than stock.
i wanna see it on the yellow car with black stripes!!!! WTF got me all excited then BAM!!! white cobalt lol
Sweet, might have to do this one.
i like it.it looks good on my LS
It's tastefully done, quite unlike the honda civic I saw once that had a body kit made from PAINTED TIN ROOF GUTTERS.

not a problem those are old pics too looks better with ma new rimz
how old? how long u had it on?
ive had it on for about 4months maybe
Ummm.....looks ok, but provides no benefit other then that. and I'm sure when you're driving you can see it folding at times. I've seen SCCA racers make them from those black strips that you would use in your garden/lawn to separate the soil from grass, anyone know what I mean? I just got a real CF one haha
hmm, the pictures show you installing it on a yellow car...?

Paint adheres to it? What kinda paint did you use?
Wow... first post 12/07 second post 6/08... |

So it wasjust a random silver? So colormatched would work right?
