OEM Gas Pedal Modification! How_TO (Pics)
Ok We all have the Problem of getting the pedals we want! My Momo Pedal would not fit over the OEM Gas Pedal! This was very easy as for as Difficulty,,, Just need a 10mm Wrench, Hand Saw & a Drill! For Those that see my Last Post on Messing with My gas Pedal >>>You Didnt reall y think I would do that Do ya! Just having some Fun!
1st) Take the Take the entire arm off,, There are 3 Bolts 10mm. You can see in the Picture where the front Bottom 1 is >> The wrench is attached to it! The 1 on the top back is a Little harder!
2nd) With the arm free Disconnect the Harness!
3rd)After Removing You Need to match up your new pedals with the Old gas Pedal! Marking the areas where the Stock Pedal is to long! I cut Mine a Half inch shorter than my New Momo Pedal! Make sure to Line up the tops & cut off the Bottom of the Pedal! All you are doing is making the OEM pedal the Mounting Platform For you New 1s<<<< This can Be done with any hand saw!
Heres after cutting the Pedal!
4th) After Cutting the Pedal,, Time to mount Your New 1! Position you new Pedal Lining them back up at the Top & drill the top Hole! Put the Screw or Bolt that came with your New 1s threw the Hole & Tighten to snug! ((Do Not Drill the Hole for the Bottom 1 Yet!))
5th)Now that your Pedal is Mounted with 1 Screw>>>> Mount The Whole thing Back in the car >>>BY replacing the Three 10mm Bolts & Pluging back in your Harness! See Pic Below! Note in the Pic that the Bottom Bolt is Not in Yet!
6th) Last Step Look at the gas Pedal Make sure it's Straight,, Adjust if needed then Drill your last Hole & But in the Bottom Screw & your Done!
Heres the Finished Product!
Hope this Helps!

Hey man, nice write-up, it def. came in handy when I was foing my install.
So I am sorry that I copied off you but I had the shift knob picked out before I saw your thread, but your set-up looks way too clean.
Man that 3rd bolt on the gas pedal is a pain. I ended up dropping that whole bracket it was attached too, to get enough room to hit that damn bolt.
Here's one shot, there are more in the thread above. Keep your car clean man,,, it's looking awesome so far

I have an interesting question regarding pedals, actually. I have the GM sport pedal kit, but when I'm driving competitively (i.e. heel-toe downshifts) I find it's much too difficult to keep my foot on the brake and blip the throttle because the two don't sit in proper alignment. The throttle is too far back and too
far to the right to make it easy. Does anyone know how I might adjust it? When I installed the throttle assembly I didn't see any way to tweak it. HELP!

Take the arm in & have it welded & Bent to what you need! Shoudln't cost more than 20 to 30 dollars!

Mount the pedal assembly to an adapter plate and mount that plate to the original location. Just need to figure out which direction you need to move things around. As far as getting the pedal more to the right, make a new pedal cover from some aluminum and bolt it to the original pedal with extra material hanging off the right side.

That's the opposite of my goal here. I'm looking to bring the throttle CLOSER to the brake, so it's easier to heel-toe. I've already thought of making an adapter, but that's going to make it more difficult to reach and still be able to maintain constant brake pressure. I'm surprised no one else has brought this up.
