Morning. Got my car mostly put back together this weekend. Discovered that the shop that I had put in my original performance clutch must have stripped the threads out where my transmission bolts to the rear mount. Luckily it is the lowest hole so I should be able to helicoil or just go up a bolt size. Hopefully get that done tonight. Then my RedLine ATF Dex. 6 should be in tomorrow so I can refill the trans. All I have left besides those few things is bleed the brakes and clutch, reinstall electric box, intake and plastic wheel well liners. Bought some new units off RockAuto for a good price.

Do they have different trim levels or options? If so what did you decide to go with?

They have three versions of the frame; two with roll bars and one with a full cage. I want to drive it on the street so I'll do the better roll bar version. They also have a some options like wing mounts and wheel fenders, but I think the big wings are silly and I haven't heard good things about their fender mounts so if I want some I'll just make my own. I have a buddy that made a Locost 7 that has a lot of lessons learned to share in that regard. Otherwise, the kit is pretty much just welded tubes and screws.

Making your whole fender or just the mounts? If you are making the fender what are you thinking for material?

Still have to look into it. There are many options for fenders so I don't have to order them now if I decide to buy them.

The problem with mounts is they are mounted to the steering knuckle and not damped, so the ones you buy are never strong enough. I think people are also having issues with the fenders themselves breaking. It's been an issue ever since people started making Locosts so solutions are out there if you look. My buddy welded solid bars to make his and hasn't had any issues.

I haven't read through your other post yet, but did you decide on a motor?

Yeah, LE5 is my first choice. The LAF/LEA is rated at 7hp higher stock, so I don't see a good reason to look for one over LE5. I also don't see a reason to go over 250hp which is the consensus limit on the Miata drivetrain, so I'm not going to search for a Solstice/Sky wreck specifically for that stuff. If one falls into my lap my attitude might change but unless my uncle wrecks his GXP I don't see that happening.

I can also add a supercharger without changing an expensive custom exhaust so 220-250hp is attainable relatively cheaply.

I was falling asleep on the couch at 1030 last night, and that was kinda late for me. Baby doesn't care how cool your game is, when she's hungry she lets you know.

I haven't played COD WWII for like two weeks. We've been binge watching Brooklyn 99. We've only got about a half season left. I'll start playing a couple times a week after that. I started Forza but can't stay on it long. I'm not obsessed with it like I was Gran Turismo during college.
