It's an LS base base model. Crank windows, manual locks, non-abs. You know, all that stuff just weighing the car down.

I took such good care of mine that I couldn't stand the thought of it being my daily driver and watching it slowly deteriorate. That's why I had to get rid of her. It still may with the new owner if he chooses to daily it but at least I won't see it. It wasn't going to be garaged anymore and I just couldn't deal with watching it die.

They actually are lighter a measurable amount. Iirc mine weighs 2,850 with full interior, spare tire ect. and all my mods like exhaust and supercharger components. But like everyone says you'd be money and time ahead just trading up to an SS even though that is the lame way to do things.

Modifying cars doesn't have much to do with smart in the first place. It's not like it was my dream to have a fast Cobalt. I already owned a Cobalt. If I owned something else I would be playing with it right now instead. My original plan was to just strap an M62 on it and be done with it. But y'all know how that goes.

Bought mine brand new in 2010. Got it to 100k miles broke an intake valve and now I am currently replacing almost everything to make it a lot more fun to drive than it already was. But essentially it will just be a very fast daily driver.

Check out the used prices on the fusion sports. Pretty good community too for a family car. You can get low mileage 18's for $26-27k and low mileage 17's for $23-25 and they have lots of room and big trucks to haul stuff in.

Going to look at a 2017 Tahoe ( already called about a lowering kit on it 3/5" ) and a 2017 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab ( same lowering kit ). Those are the two the wife gave a green light on. Same motor - 5.3 which we would procharge with a D1X setup. 450-475whp. plus the drop on 22" reps will be a fun family daily. Will see how we make out.

I don't think it even knows it has switched owners. Aside from the 200 miles i put on it driving it home I've only put 106 on it.
