Its in the 30's here, just glad it has stopped raining at this point. People freak out and do the same thing here when we get more than 2-3in of snow or more than 1in of ice. Its like they forget what winter driving is after a summer season.

Just like how they close school now because its supposed to storm that afternoon or close the next day because it was storming all night. When I was in school we still went and if it got bad we just got stuck in the hallway or basement. Man that makes me feel old saying that

I remember we missed school a few times for snow when I was in elementary and when I was in middleschool a tornado hit the school and it shut down for a week for repair. We just extended our schedule into the summer break when stuff like that happened. So if we missed 5 days out of the year we would get out for summer may 10 instead of say may 4/5. I don't think you could have even paid/bribed me into going on sat for school

i was in sixth grade. the four kids that did go got extra credit and played with the animals. normally they took away president's day but this happened after that and spring break so that's what they came up with. not sure why they didn't extend into summer or take away memorial day.
