Trying to decide between an everlast tig and an AHP alpha tig.

AHP is cheaper, but everlast has a better warranty.

AC tig?

FYI I got the harbor fright Protig 200 AC welder for AL welding, fatal flaw is that the post-flow is 15 seconds long!! It is a gas hog if you're doing a lot of tacking, small parts and re-positioning a lot. When I blew through two 40cuft bottles faster than I thought possible, I started to only crack the argon tank open, then run around and shut the tank off to save gas.

I now have a solenoid valve installed at the regulator output to cut gas flow, I latch on the relay using the foot pedal switch and have a remote button on the welding table to unlatch the relay. Pretty much a deal breaker if you're a hobbyist. Another issue is intermittent hard starts, you have to nearly slam to electrode into the workpiece one time, which is a reliable work around. Other than those issues, it works well with adjustable pulse and frequency, I weld with it just as well as the Dynasty I learned to aluminum tig. A good deal on a used one would be worth, but full price it's not worth it IMO.

Yeah definitely AC and dual voltage is a must because I dont have 220 in my garage.

I think both of the machines im looking at have adjustable pre and post flow. I definitely cant afford a miller or lincoln, and even used ones are more expensive than the AHP or everlast.

Had the grandson this weekend. He wears us out but I wouldn't trade him for the world. Gonna try and get the aftermarket intercooler in the fusion this coming weekend.
