That means you need to get a roll bar to keep going faster.

It would be nice if our local track was a 1/4 but its only a 1/8th. Ive debated on trying it anyway and seeing what I CAN do. I know my car can drive better than I'm capable but it would be nice to have some numbers to compare with.

How fast is too fast for a convertible? I was reading the rules a few weeks back and it seems like if you dont modify the firewall you can basically run 10.5 in any car without a roll bar.

Did they drop it to 10.5 for NHRA? I thought the cutoff was 11.00 for a roll bar requirement.

Okay I read it wrong.

10.99 and Quicker or 135 MPH Roll Cage
Unless it is a full body car with an unaltered firewall, floor, and body
(from firewall rearward, wheeltubs permitted), running
10.00 - 10.99 roll bar permitted

You can go 10.0 without a cage if its a full body car, but you need a roll bar

The way they write it is so confusing. Right below what you just said they say what i posted. I think it depends on if its a "stock body" car or not.

It's a buddy, so the bigger problem is getting him out in a timely manner. If he doesn't get back to me I've got another guy I can go to. A/C guys here are prolific.

The guy at work who races with us ran a 12.6 in his Mustang convertible, no one said anything and he is a long time drag racer and keeps telling me Milan doesn't care. I'm guessing they will say something if I hit an 11.49 maybe.

As long as your car isnt crazy most tracks dont seem to bother you much. Roll up in a cobalt and they barely even wanna check under the hood. They assume its safe because its a slow fwd shitbox.

Our track isn't like that, it's been awhile but they give you one pass at a faster time. If you come back after the roll cage required time and hit it again they'll boot you, if you want to run and lift at 1/8mile they have no issue, or do what a local did here and slam on his brakes right before the line
