In, hate how I can never be home when someones working on the house. Contractor is supposed to be replacing the facias, soffits, and siding. all the facias and soffits are wood and the old siding is Masonite. Was supposed to get a itemized list of work to be performed before they started but they started anyway yesterday. All they did was start covering everything with vinyl and sheet metal like I wasn't going to notice they didn't replace the rotten parts.

You better notify them ASAP. You are paying to have them do the work it better be exactly what you want. It sucks the way people do jobs anymore. No quality work and they do the cheapest and quickest way possible.

I already have sent a message to the contractor about it.

I know, another sad part is there is probably honest workers out there struggling to get by.

Don't you have a "Nextdoor" community where you live?
We recently redid the entire ground floor (flooring, painting, plantation shutters, half bath overhaul) and we found great local companies for all 4 projects through Nextdoor that all did a phenomenal job. There are lots of reviews by customers in the direct neighborhood and that's how these contractors get referral business. We now have the same painting company lined up to do the entire outside of the house in August.

Nextdoor is a little different than home adviser. It's more like a community forum, people post up about crime, complaints, contractor reviews, etc etc

This. It's more like social media than a traditional review site. www.nextdoor.com
