i agree lol. im pretty content with my 7 plus. so i think im just gonna hang onto it and then when my plan is up i wont have to be paying for it anymore and that will save me i think its $34 a month or so lol.

not to mention what they hope to be the price tag, over $1000 for a phone sorry not spending that much, even $700-$800 is asking a lot but all the tech they jam into a small forum I can see spending that much.

I'm gonna be getting the Note 8, with the preorder bonus and 150 off through best buy with payment plan its well worth it imo. I have had the note 5 since it was new so it'll be a nice upgrade. The new I phone on the other hand... eh, charge near double for 1-2 year old android tech with a fancy logo and different os, no thanks.

i had a galaxy s5 and hated it. went back to an iphone 2 months later lol. i like ease of use that the iphone has and everything else. ive never had a single issue with my iphones and ive had them all. never had a bad one! so im not going to go and change something if i know it works great and i have no problems lol. the organization to me on the iphone is superb to anything else when it comes to finding things such as pictures or videos and the way things are saved as well. idk i just have 0 issues with my iphone lol

That's a reasonable upgrade, I was considering the S8 active (my job and how I treat phones requires me to buy tough phones otherwise I spend a shitload on warranty bs) but the specs just weren't enough for me to drop the cash even with the deals they had going for how I use the phone.

I'm surprised yours has lasted this long.
First the battery took a ****, so I bought a Hyperion 10,000 mAh battery and case, then about 5 months later the screen took a ****. Never had a Samsung again since I bought that outright and was 2 months outside warranty (they wouldn't honour anything).

Haven't had an iPhone since 3G came to Canada. Had that for a week and figured out jailbreaking (was hard as hell, it's super easy now). Owned it for a year, switched to Android and have never looked back.

Idk about apple stock. Personally I think they are out of ideas and haven't done anything special in years. The only thing they have going for them is they lock up everything that power users like, which makes them nearly impossible to screw up. I hate my phone telling me a can't do something or not even having the option. If I want to disable permissions for an app it better let me even if it claims it may not work properly. If I want a third party app I can get it. Personally I find the Samsung phones way better in nearly every way and will never buy another Iphone. The only thing I wish is Samsung didn't do was copy apple on the stupid glass back cover that isn't removable so you can easily replace the batter plus why would making a phone case out of glass ever even be remotely close to a good idea. At least they still allow SD cards unlike crapple who charges you way too much for mediocre storage.

Anyone deal with a rattling steering column after replacing the i-shaft? I have a hard time believing the new part is bad and causing a rattle like this:

Starts at 36 seconds. Apparently the youtube start feature is broken, too.

I miss Nexus phones. I have a Nexus 5X that cost tree fiddy new and I hope to get 3 years out of it. They have a defect though that causes a bootloop. Last week it happened to me but Google went ahead and sent me a refurb even though I was out of warranty. When this dies I'll prob get a Nokia. I can't justify spending $400+ on a phone, esp when all I do on it is call, text, browse, stream music and baseball, and run simple apps like calendar and GPS monitoring. Any cheap phone can do that.

I went from a galaxy s4 that I loved, to a 5s and now a 6+ and I miss my samsung phone a lot. My old s4 did more than the wife's 6s will do.

Do a custom ROM. They really wake up the device (speed/config options).

I had iphone 4 then galaxy S5 and now galaxy S7. I don't like that Samsung went to proprietary charging port on the S8. They are picking up some things from Apple they shouldn't. Another thing about Apple is they send out updates that turn your old phone into a slow laggy turd just before the launch of their new phones. You might think your phone is just getting old but there is no reason for an update to make your phone run worse and that is exactly what it does.

Interesting. I've never had an iPhone but that is basically what happened to my ipad. It worked absolutely perfect for years, and then a big update, and it's been a pile o crap ever since.

The S8 isn't a proprietary charging port, it's just usb-c the newest version of the usb. There isn't a direction you have to plug the cable

Oh **** well I take that back. Samsung FTW. I just saw that the plug was different and assumed. I also thought the USB-C was just a full size USB thing. So is it considered a Micro USB-C?
