HP. Model: 15-BW011DX

nothing special but it will do for now. kept me under my $300 budget. while still having most features I wanted. I really wanted a light up keyboard, but I will live with out it. Just gotta clean up the random junk that comes on it.

Not a bad laptop for what your gonna be using it for. Got in about 30min late this morning due to the ice and snow. City didn't start putting out salt until AFTER it began sleeting last night. Poor LS got a workout on the way to work.

I have a 65in 3d tv, it was like 1200 when I got it three years ago with a 5 year warranty. 4ks are going down and imo anything smaller than a 50 on 4k is a waste. Next one I get is gonna be a 4k led flat panel, probably 70 or 75. I do have a large den and couch though so we sit about 8-10ft from the tv.

You have to have a huge room to need a 65" TV, once you get past the mid 50s they are insanely sized. Honestly would be better to get a 1080p projector and get a 100" screen

If I could get a full motion for mine I would but we have it set in the corner and mount for my size tv for it to work is ridiculous

I just don't see 4k being worth all the extra money over 1080p even on larger screens unless you're viewing a larger screen up close (which why by a big ass screen)

If you have the money they have some really good laser projectors that have come out. There is also some new short throw projectors that are nice but expensive. Biggest deal is not to cheap out on blinds and a screen.

Every time I buy a damn TV it seems like I see it on sale half price the next month. I have a 720P 36" Insignia from college that cost me $700 in ~2009. I have a 55" that cost me $700 in ~2014. But best of all I have a 55" that I got for free because it was broken and I fixed it with a $60 circuit board. If you ever have a TV quit on you check out parts and diagnosis on the interwebs. I incorrectly diagnosed the TV initially and got the wrong board(video board) but it was through Amazon so I returned it and got the other board(power board) (there are usually only 2 or 3) and it fixed it.

There is a big quality difference when you get up around the 65in range and above even from a good distance. I agree the extra money still isn't quite worth it for oled but lcd's have gone down so I think they are priced good. Maybe in 2-3 years Itl be even better.

Won't do much for your XB1S unless you get some 4K Blu-Rays.

I like the up-scaling even though it's "fake."

I just made a screen protector out of an acrylic sheet in case my 2yo decides to launch a toy car through it. I have a buddy whose kids destroyed his TV. He was debating replacing it. I don't want to live like that.

Some of the newer games are taking advantage of 4K so it would still be worth it.

But the One X is the one you need for that

EDIT: just looked up the difference, and it looks like it's upscaling (1S) vs. native (1X) UHD. Both better than my XBone OG.
