Also Kolt, you need to make an official 'Merica thread already!
I know a chick who bought a Hyundai Sonata and thought it was a sports car because it had a turbo, lol. Thing is a pile of trash.

Not seeing a lot of those come in for electrical or engine issues but they are being killed by torque converter shudders right now. The new fluid we went to supposedly is absorbing moisture.... supposed to get another new fluid sometime starting in January to fix it but who knows.

Make an option for "Other (post in thread your title idea)" or something similar.

Is that just the 8 speed or does it affect the 6 speeds as well? I'd get a used one but if they have trans problems I won't bother.

Good to know.

So I'm guessing the newer Diesels with the 6 speed are still ok? Not sure I want a diesel though, 180hp is going to be way too slow for passing, etc.

What about the engine and all of the emissions garbage on there? I guess the Duramax overseas is known to be a good motor (the 2.8) but I'm not sure if it is still good here with all of the crap on it to make it "clean."

I haven't seen any emission stuff like the 6.6 has had other than I think they have a tank heater issue.

Kolt- do the atg's in the regals die just like the ones in the ats, and cts, or I guess Malibu's can be thrown in there too.

Unfortunatly yea, the one we have tore down right now is actually out of a 14 regal. Honestly we dont see them too often here, mostly its the 1.5's that bust. I do have a 1.4t in a trax (same engine as in the sonics) that has a possible cracked ringland. Wont know till I get it tore down but it doesn't look good. 120psi on cyl 1 compared to 205 on the rest and 80% cyl leakage into the crankcase. They have a new bulletin on it now.

Wow the bearings are shot too, and I'm guessing the crank. Did they run the motor oil for 30,000 miles?
