In, little cold today with low 20's this morning. Expecting snow, sleet, and freezing rain this weekend. Boo.

sometimes we do, but usually it's pretty chill. reasonable people here plan for the fact that lots of people take extra time off, and we have a plant shutdown between christmas and new year's.

I wish my company did that. Its very difficult for me to take vacation in the months of December or January . I always have vacation left over but end up just carrying it over.

we close shop Christmas week. so we either take it unpaid or use PTO. I guess its kind of nice to have it off every year.

we also don't have many holidays during the year, so it evens out. I like having a long break vs. more single days off, but the stretch between new year's and memorial day without a day off is rough. I usually plan a vacation during that stretch.

Latitude is very relative.
I love this map, projecting US cities over a map of Europe and vice versa. Yes, this is accurate.
It puts my birthplace (let's just say Amsterdam) well into Canada, and Denver in the balmy south of Italy. Crazy.
