Does anyone else do stuff like this?

So I'm a Feeder Driver (semi-truck) for UPS, and I have found that I'm doing things in my Cobalt that I do in my truck, for example... trying to float gears. It's actually starting to get scary, as I'm doing this stuff without even realizing it. Does anyone else do this? Also, any other UPSers on here?

I do it very sparingly. It's harder in the cobalt than it is in my truck.

I have actually driven my cobalt like that all the way to the shop when the Throw out bearing went out. I’d shut it off at red lights and let the starter start the car up in 1st gear.

that was back before I felt comfortable trying to drop the trans myself

I don't do it intentionally, of course, it's just kind of becoming habit. Like trying to put the key into the ignition of the left side, lower dash (old school International). Glad to know it isn't just me.

Depends on the traffic how sparingly or how much float I put on. Bumper to.bumper, I set it on crawl and just leave it.

I used to in my ls from time to time on 3-5/5-3 back when it was my dd. I could from 1st to 2nd if I wanted but took more effort. Super easy otherwise since it revs down so slowly. Never in the ss though. I basically do already in the b2200 since the 2nd and 3rd syncro are so weak. It grinds just as much with or without the clutch so F'it.
