Will read the post later, went with the AR. All the options listed, $725(plus tax) in perfect condition. (from what I've looked up it's a little over $1200 new. It was on consignment so I guess he guy really needed money.

Pics later, on the run today.

Glad to hear you got an AR!

It can always be updated and customized once you learn more about the platform. I have a drop in quad rail, some sights, and other spare parts I can sell you if you need anything.

Sorry Marc, I wasn't trying to grill you, I just wanted the AR noob to get the correct info from the get go lol.

How do you like your B.A.D?

That's a really nice configuration.

Thanks. The BAD is great once you get used to it. You can manipulate the bolt catch with your trigger finger and maintain your full hold and sight picture. You can get it for $28 now or less, so I'd certainly recommend trying one.

^^ To the untrained eye lol.

Check inside the upper receiver and see if the barrel extension has M4 feedramps cut into it? I'm not sure if Bushy's come with those or not. If so, bonus.

Are the handguards a larger diameter towards the receiver and then taper smaller toward to muzzle? I can't tell in the picture. The M4 handgaurds taper down, while regular AR-15 carbine handguards are the same size.

If you want to have a lot of fun for dirt cheap, pick up a .22lr conversion kit. It drops in the upper receiver taking the place of the 5.56 bolt carrier group and allows you to shoot cheap ass .22's through your gun and practice lots.

Just picked it up. Took me forever to find one with a threaded barrel. Ya I have plans for that but lets keep it quiet because soon the gun will be. I love Pa!

ya unless you have priors, it only takes like 90 days to get a permit/ tax stamp for a suppressor.

I may or may not have similar paperwork.

Supressors are cool, but IMHO a waste on a .22

Ever shoot a .22 AR platform rifle? They are pretty damn quiet to begin with. A supressor should make it realllllll quiet, which is certainly cool in it's own right.

Does the suppressor in question work for .223/5.56 as well, or is it limited to .22 rimfire?

I think it's sweet in general, but if I'm going to sport the money and paperwork hassle for a Form 1 and suppressor, then it's going on a SBR at least in 5.56 if not something more exotic like 6.8SPC or 6.5 Grendel lol.

A supressor requires a threaded barrel or some other ability to attach it. Since most pistols are blowback action operated, everything common should have an aftermarket threaded barrel available that will stick out past the slide. A pistol that utilises a drop in barrel would make for a nice and easy swap as needed. Certain weird exceptions would certainly exist.

The paperwork is the same as a short barreled rifle or the transfer of a Class 3 pre-86' 'machine gun'. For an individual to own one it requires fingerprints, picture, LEO Chief signoff, $200 to the BATF, and a decently long wait time. There is also the option of a NFA trust which is easier on the requirements and paperwork, but need a good lawyer to make it so you don't land up in prison.

It is certainly a shame that Federal and State gun laws are such a pain in the ass for us law abiding citizens. Bad people always ruin the fun for the rest of us...

The 15-22 is very quiet. I'd use a suppressor on something more like the .223 AR. The guys at Magpul claim it adds a lot of stress to the rifle as well under firing.
