My New Daily Driver

Well it was time to retire my crappy cavalier as my daily driver and get something else. I decided on this! 2014 Cadillac ATS4. Has the 3.6 V6. Fully loaded performance trim. I had to fly and drive home 12 hours to get exactly what I wanted but it was soooo worth it! Love this car! Got a ridiculously good deal on it too. Makes me hate my Cobalt that much more lol.

Silly reason to hate you're Cobalt as it's not even close to being a fair comparison but it is very nice looking whip.

very nice! I been looking at these. Any reason you went with the 3.6 and not the 2.0T?

3.6 won't have the direct injection dirty valves issues - correct?

Ah ok I don’t hate my car. I’m just sick of it. More meant makes me want to drive it less now. It’s on the chopping block next. Probably going to get a 2016 Camaro 2SS for my next summer car and boost it.

I really did want the 2.0T. In Canada it’s a very hard car to find in the performance and premium trims. Guess more people that went all out on these cars when first purchased just checked off all the boxes haha. And this kinda keeps me from modding my daily driver and having it turn in to a full out summer car like my Balt did Lmao. I couldn’t turn it down. It has 50,000 kms (31,000 miles), has warranty till 2020 and I got it for 20k. It’s only missing 2 options that the premium trim has. Couldn’t turn it down. The V6 moves out pretty damn decent.

Sucks there’s limited modding options for the 3.6 with even simple bolt ons like intake and exhaust. I posted that in a recent zzp Instagram comment and al told me to hold tight. So sounds like they got something in the works.

Yeah I looked in to that and couldn’t find any issues of it. Just a 2.0 thing? Not sure.

I really want a 2.0T AWD sedan preferably the premium trim since the performance doesn't have back seats that fold down.

Yeah that’s one thing I hate. I’m probably going to end up getting the hardware so that I can make it fold down.

Lol yeah isn’t that the truth. In Canada it’s a 60k car. I got mine for 20k. But used they are going for around 30k here. It was a deal I couldn’t refuse.

That was the biggest struggle I faced also. Not many people opted for the premium nevermind the performance trims. It was all base and luxury.

The bullshit part? The folding rear seat comes in the lower luxury trim as well. Makes no sense.

I'm looking at getting one in about 2 years. Right now it will be the 2.0 because like you say it's the only motor that you can mod. We have a 3.6 in our Acadia and it has decent power.
At that point the Cobalt will probably go into dd mode. By then it will be 11 yrs old but still probably have less than 50k miles on it.
Nice car!

I've been eyeing these up since the depreciation is so hilariously bad on them.

The 2.0T from 2014-2015 has piston issues. The 3.6 through 2015 has the dreaded GM timing chain problems in addition to valve coking from the DI. But I think you can get a catch can and keep good oil in it and you'll be fine (3.6)

Enjoy!
