I've had my car for about 8 months (They were tinted when I bought it), and I think the front driver windows are at 20% (Those are the only windows other than the windshield that matter in Michigan, or so I've heard).
I've never once been bothered, and I've been driving all over the state; (12k miles in 8 months)

I have had tint on all my cars....the darker it is the faster you get caught IMO. if your looking for a even sleek look do 35% on all windows including windshield. itll look great, and 35% doesnt affect your drivability at night. Auto One at Hall Road and Schoenherr does a pretty good job, they are kinda pricey. Sunshade is great too, they have many locations, and if I remember correctly they have a "ticket guard" warranty system

I guess its some kinda deal where, if you get a ticket, they take it off for you so you can get the ticket signed off, then after tint them again for free. Don't quote me on that because im not completely sure, thats what I was told though

A little late, but i'd agree it depends on color, i have a black balt, with 35% on windows, and 5% everything behind my head. not pulled over once, day or night, and i tend to drive on the faster/attetion seeking side. i might just be lucky
