Another new guy!

Hello all, my name is Josh, and I'm the proud owner of a well-maintained 2006 Cobalt SS/SC!

I'm by no means a newbie to the aftermarket scenes, tuner, muscle, or off-road.

This is, however, my introduction into the world of forced induction.

I have 6 years experience as a dealership technician for various different makes, unfortunately GM was not one of them. I specialized in advanced electrical systems. Hopefully I can offer some assistance as well as receive some knowledge.

I hope to be a fairly active member in this community.

I don't have many pictures of the car as of now, but I'll be back to show the Balt off!

-Josh

Nicee! Looks clean! Just so you know those are the wheels from the 08-10 cobalt ss (turbo). They look really nice with that blue though.

Welcome to the forum

Thanks man! I love the way they look on this car.

The previous owner definitely put some money into this thing, there's a few things I noticed that I don't think are factory.

When I have more time, I'll grab some more pictures and info to share.

By the way, is there an app for the forum in the App Store?

Thanks man! It is pretty clean for a 10 year old car.

It definitely turns some heads!

Thanks buddy!

I'm really enjoying the warm welcome, I've tried to be a part of other forums with the same premise as this one in the past, but pretty much everyone just wanted to ask the same questions, ignore the search bar, and argue over insignificant things.

I get the vibe that this community will be one I'll enjoy being a part of.

It's got a few minor issues that could easily be tended to, but what 10 year old car doesn't?

Mechanically, it's extremely sound. I can tackle the little knick nack stuff piece by piece.

I am planning to do an aftermarket Head unit install sometime in the future, I'm sure there are plenty of How-to's on that, but I'll try my hand at documenting the steps.

Thanks!

Forgive my ignorance but LSJ is the engine code for the 2.0 S/C, correct?

I thought so, I just wanted to verify.

At any rate, I'm looking forward to putting my own touches on this thing, and hopefully getting to know some people. Really looking forward to learning more about these cars, and possibly being able to help others with my little bit of knowledge.

Quick way to check for a smaller pulley is look for 4 blue bolts on the side of the pulley

Start with a 3" Cold air intake from ZZP. Let that m62 scream.
That was my very first mod

First thing after work I'll check that out.

I know it's got at least a header and high flow cat going to a magnaflow.

I saw an AEM placard under the hood, so I think it may have a CAI already. Another think I'll double check!

It's about 10 minutes from the Shreveport/Bossier City area.

There's a pretty decent car scene in Shreveport, if you know the right people to hang around.

Me too! It could definitely use a thorough clay bar and wax job done. But it still looks nice as it is.
