Hi all, got an 04 Saturn redline, same drivetrain as the Chevy. Figured I would learn more from the higher production model with the same insides.
Eventually want to build a motor that handles 300+ hp and lasts a while. Got 186k on this thing and a bunch of fix it issues instead of speed parts to do lol. Anyways gonna be doing a lot of research and might how power train and suspension questions. I know that ZZP is about the shit for these sleepers. But it costs a lot of money. Anyways solving a lot of prior owner over tightening a lot of crap and someone who should have never touched the car issues. Still wondering of they tightened the plugs so tight it messed up the head. Plug change was nerve wracking and induced a misfire in cylinder 1 after driving about 15-20 miles and shutting the engine off for a while. Have a coil pack arriving Tuesday might test later with the pack from 2 swapped and see if I need to look further. Done all the brakes, prior owner removed the pads and hose from the front left and had nasty dimpled and slotted rotors that were warped. They also attempted to replace the rear pads and rotors, clearly worn dead by the gouged rotors and over torqued it all. Thankfully they did not bleed them as the brake fluid in the hose looked like gell. Anyways runs like mad when not miss firing, needs a new clutch that's incoming from rockauto as well as a ton of other things. |
