Lurking since 2008; Owner tomorrow
I first test drove the Cobalt SS in 2008. Joined and used this forum for research back then but decided to go some other way.... but have always remembered the SS!
Fast forward to present day and now have small stable of fast cars but was looking for a car that could be the "Mr. Dependable" to learn new track configurations and develop/perfect new skills. I think the SS is perfect for this task! I spent a couple of weeks looking and finally inquired about a car the first day it appeared in Autotrader. Bought it site unseen, overnighted a Cashier's check on Tuesday and car has made 1900 mile journey and will be delivered tomorrow!! 2008 w/G85 and no sunroof in Victory Red. 14,000 miles. I really wanted a no sunroof car as this one will be 85-90% track car and I need headroom with helmet.
Mods planned are PF01 w/ RE11's..... I will get used to car's characteristics before going to straight slicks. Also will likely go with the KW V2's and open to recommendations on best swaybar set-up. We already have Solstice GXP Coupe so we are familiar with motor and doing our own tuning.
I'm all ears for suggestions for making this the best road course car that it can be. Plan to half-cage it (don't plan on coming all the way forward until/unless we start doing wheel to wheel with it.)
