New here!

Hey everyone! I’m new to this platform. I come from working on mk4 Jetta 1.8ts the past 15 years. Just made a deal to get this SS. It may need an engine. If it needs an engine do I rebuild the one I have or find a used one? And are they easy to find? Is there a specific brand of rods or anything that’s better than most other brands? How much hp can the stock internals hold? Do most guys take out the supercharger for a turbo? Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated! Edit: it’s been sitting for the past 4 years!

based on the steering wheel it looks to be either an '05 or an '06;
You would need someone familiar with the LSJ (that's the supercharged engine code) to speak up.

Since you offered no vehicle specifics and it's obviously been played with, it might help your cause if you can share the model year (just incase) and the eight digit of the vin.

Looks to be a solid project - it's too bad some monkey wrecked the door panels - My guess is you're going ot need replacement panels - the soft vinyl covered, and upper sections were plastic welded to the base of the door panel.
