Japeatr's Nitrous Express Installation

Ok, im in the process of installing my deluxe NX kit with all the goodies that come with it.

This is a lot of work as running the lines and the 6 circuits of wiring require pulling the front part of my roll cage out and a lot of tapping into things.

Disclaimer: im not responsible for your Nitrous install, do at your own risk and have fun.

So here are the kit details:

PROTON FLY BY WIRE NITROUS SYSTEM W/ 10LB BOTTLE

Proton nitrous systems combine performance, durability and value in a compact and easy to mount, made in the USA, nitrous / fuel module. Proton systems now contain a new and improved nitrous / fuel module that is capable of producing up to 250 horsepower to the wheels! The new nitrous / fuel module is extremely durable and is compatible with progressive nitrous controllers. This Proton Plus system includes jetting for 35HP, 50HP, 75HP, 100HP, 125HP and 150HP but can flow up to 250HP with the optional SHO jet kit. This system includes a 10lb nitrous bottle with a high flow billet aluminum Lightning 45 bottle valve, stainless bottle brackets, a single Shark nozzle, nozzle adapter, stainless braided nozzle lines, 15 foot braided stainless feed line, stainless fuel line, master arming switch, wide open throttle switch, 40 amp relay, relay harness as well as every nut, bolt and electrical connector needed to complete the installation. Fits all electronic fuel injected vehicles with a single throttle body. This system includes a TPS Autolearn wide open throttle module for use with all electronic fuel injected vehicles, including those with "fly by wire" electronic driven throttle bodies.

•#15600 Nitrous Purge kit

i also picked up an MSD Digital Window Switch and ZZP blower spacer. I may not use the blower spacer, but ill get into that soon.

NX Remote Bottle Opener

im going to spray 100 wet between the blower and IM. *Pending*
I also am running a inline fuel pump and surge tank to keep up with fuel demand as i am currently maxing my fuel system.

im likely going to feed the wet side of the shot off the fuel service port on the stock rail at this point in time

The goods, cameos of Powell parts in the pic as well

Bottle Mounted in trunk

NX Shark nozzle mounted in ZZP Blower Spacer. This may change to another location pre- throttle body, still on the fence. want distrbution and mixing distance before the cylinders so still making up my mind.

Proton Solenoid mounted on a custom bracket i made, MSD mounted to firewall, injection relay and TPS switch mounted to my FPR bracket.

Im routing the Nitrous feed line along the passanger side beneath the interior panels.

The wiring is taking me some time and I have been traveling so progress has been slow LOL.

Basically the Window switch will make Solenoid ground when in the specified RPM range. the TPS switch will make the solenoid Positive when at WOT. so i have protection on being both WOT and RPM.

The bottle has a Bottle heater and a pressure transducer. the transducer regulates bottle pressure by turning on and off the bottle heater to maintain 1000psi pressure. what this means is.... more wiring and relays lol

The bottle opener is a simple switched power to the servo to on off the servo.

I also have a fuel pressure safety switch that will shut off the nitrous if FP falls below 35psi. I will have to figure out some fittings if i plan on running this.

The Purge solenoid is setup to vent N2O upstream of the solenoid using a pushbutton that makes ground.

I mentioned im still working thru the wiring. If anyone can assist in helping me locate the tach output wire from the PCM for rpm, and the throttle position 1 - 5v wire from the PCM that would be great. Should be similar to the WOT BOX i imagine.

Ill update this thread as i am working thru the wiring.

Got off the phone with NX this afternoon. They recommended to chassis ground then solenoid and hook the NO from the MSD to the relay ground.

I picked up a couple more spools of solder and made some additional progress ob the wiring before i had to pull Taintedred07s block out of his car

Update:

Most of the underhood wiring is complete, need to mount and wire switches and run the heater and opener setup

Likely going with a TB spacer for NX nozzle.

Also am going to re run the N2O line from the trunk under the car and install the blowdown tube.

Making progress
