Rebuild 4.05 or no?

Some of you guys may know that I have a Non LSD Cobalt SS. Well the other day I hade a guy offer me 2 SS Cobalts ( one wrecked , one needs rods). He offered them for dirt cheap. The wrecked Cobalt is a G85 package car but he told me that the 5th gear synchros is gone. So my question is it worth rebuilding this trans if so what is the cost I am looking at or just try to find a good 4.05 trans? Thanks in Advance.

5th gear you can change without fully tearing the transmission apart. You just pull the outter cover off and you can access 5th.

actually its pretty easy to do yourself. and you could grab a 5th gear set for around $125.
