what does it take to run a 100 shot

so what all would you have to change to run a 100 shot? I know you would have to get pistons and probably a tune for the nitrous to work best. I thought i read on the zex nitrous site after a 75 shot you have to upgrade the fuel pump or change to a return style fuel system.... If someone could set this straight for me it would be much appreciated.

there is a LSJ biuld book that covers most of that. the time attack cobalt was basically stock internals besides pistons and valve springs, and was spraying a 150shot. the whole car performance wise, was basically injectors, pistons, valvesprings, and cams. with nitrous and was making over 400whp. needless to say it was a feather and crazy suspension work, but it was a beast.

yea im not 100% on that, they didnt specify on how much it was spraying either. its hard to imagine a nearly 270hp motor with 150 shot only making 75 more hp. i could be wrong. the gm performance division book, the people that made the car, made this book, they claimed it made over 400whp. and this book is 100x more indepth than the article about it on this site.

yea i have been looking around on line and talking to people on here that run nitrous so if i want to go with a big shot i figured pistons and valves at least might as well try and get valve springs and all that stuff if im doing the valves then i can up my rev limit. They were using that gmr cam in the time attack cobalt werent they?

you might as well get it sleaved too just to be safe.. its alot easier to have a sleave changed than it is to replace the entire block from a rod breakin.

thread revival. so i'm thinking: sleeves, pistons, valvetrain, return style fuel system/larger fuel pump, injectors, tune. then the nitrous and all the accesories. so really in order to run 100/150shot safely, its a lot of money

if you're gonna sleeve, cam, spring, piston, etc and you're still just gonna go nitrous? might as well go turbo or better blower instead.

i dont see why you would need to sleeve your block to run a 100 shot. pistons yes definitely, valvetrain... not really, maybe valvesprings for higher rpms but not necessarily just to run a 100 shot, cams i would recommend but not "needed". stock fuel pump will be fine. but still, the kit with all the right accessories is about $1500, with pistons, and a tune, you looking at $2500-3k. ill let you know when im done.

why not? im going to biuld the internals,(minus the sleeve because thats dumb) and spray a 100 shot on stock blower. it will still make close to 400whp on stock blower probably more around 350-375. i do plan on doing the tvs swap down the road. its just all personal preference and a biuld process.

going turbo or better blower, making over 300 with anything and your gunna have to do some internals soon enough anyways is what im getting at.

Uhhh you dont need any of that..........I sprayed a 100 shot on 60#s with a 2.85" running 11.8 AFR and while spraying it shot up to 12.3AFR which was a bit scary. Needless to say after a few runs she was having some trouble, but nothing internal wise. You will need a clutch and a really good tune and a 255fp and raise the fuel pressure up.....It has nothing to due with Internals until your spraying into the 150+ range on this motor i have come to find out.

pistons have been blown with 75 shots, they are not forged from the factory. i would highly recommend forged pistons on anything higher than a 50 shot. consider yourself lucky.
