Major problem...NEED HELP NOW! I just installed a SS/NA cluster in my car....problem is I didn't know what year it was...well found out now it's from an 05. I've read that they swap fine, but just don't work correctly...ok, so I turned the car to on...it started up like normal, no problem. Go to start the car and it shut everything down...key is stuck in the ignition...it went into security shut down or something...no power for anything...what the **** do I do? I'm going to grab my car charger and stick it on the posts under the hood to hopefully give it juice to get my key out...I re-installed the factory cluster and I've got nothing still.

 

Post in the troubleshooter forum too. Was there a how to you followed?

 

Yeah, I followed it exactly...very simple...it's just plug and play, doesn't say anything else is required. I posted in the other forum as well.

I figured I'd buy it and give it a shot since it was only $26 on ebay shipped...Not sure if it's a problem with the cluster or with my car's PCM not liking it. But I haven't read anyone else having this problem.

 

Stupid ******* car...it must have gone into some security mode and so I left it alone and went back out there now and it's fine...it must have had a 15 min shut down or something.

 

Tried swapping it back to the SS/NA one again and it works now...don't know what happened, but decided I'd give it one more go and it works fine...I don't have my DIC, but oh well, I'll look for an 07 SS/NA or SS/SC and buy that and then sell this one later.

Since the 05/06 controls were on the dash and not the wheel, they don't register so it's stuck on the temp/odometer, but that's fine...don't really use any of the other DIC info much anyways.
