And P, good to know you still come around at least. I saw a while back you were going to consider an SHO....have you done anything with that? Still have the TC or ?
I used to know all the mazda guys...after the MS3 was totaled I stopped talking to everyone except Tom with the black ms3 and hagard like hair

I am buying a house, so I canceled the SHO purchase. And the coworkers sho did not have the track pack. But they can be had for $25k used with 50k miles. FANTASTIC deal, but I've almost paid off my pos ss.

You still have that cobalt?

I would go out there but I work overnights and been working 12 hour days for the last 6 months. Start at 7pm to 7am so its hard to do anything during the week. All I have is my weekends lol.

I probably won't get rid of my Cobalt anytime soon. I've got all the bolt-ons except for a TB (getting an LSJ TB with adapter plate). Going to see what happens at the dyno with it...it's fun in terms of handling...I hope there is a decent difference in throttle response going from 2.2 TB to LSJ and an updated tune.

I haven't had any major issues with the car and I'm just about to roll 78k miles. I've had it five years all ready and it's paid for...why get into debt again, you know? Depending on what happens down the road (with living situation and money)....I am thinking I will finally SC the car...I'll wait until 100k to do it. Do that for a while and maybe go turbo afterwards to try it out. I've been looking at a Mazda2 or Mazda3 with Skyactiv for a new DD in about 2-4 years.

Plus, I'm trying to find a new place to live...can stay where I am until April, then I have to move...trying to find something cheaper if possible...worst case...go back to my mom's and save some money while helping her out...her house will be mine one day so I could start fixing it up...add a basement bathroom, finish the basement, maybe put an addition on...plus it has a bigass garage my dad built for working on cars...I would consider raising the garage and adding a lift. Wouldn't be fun living there with my son because I would prefer my son isn't in a smoke filled environment like I was as a kid, but whatever I need to do, I'll do. Would be nice to fix the house up and still have some money to save and some money to spend every month.

Oh, and the issues I had with my Cobalt were all relatively easy and cheap fixes...driver's front wheel bearing, end links, front sway was replaced (bushings were bad so I went LSJ bar), strut mounts had bad bearings...replaced the shitty Pacesetter header and Exhaust Depot DP with Bad-Mab and ZZP. Added the 2.4 IM, a few other touches...car is better than it was before.

My stock end links went...went through one pair of the Moog end links...on the second pair...made the mistake of using the shorter end links with my FE1 bar though...now with the FE5 bar it's much better...I think that was part of the problem with the bushings going quicker.

And that was my first wheel bearing.

I only want to say, DAMN I LOVE HAVING A BASE COBALT...LMAO...so easy...no ABS to deal with (I hate ABS), no power this or that...the car is slightly lighter due to that stuff...only problem is the auto...oh well.

So, I don't suppose anyone here has an LSJ Adapter plate and 6 to 8 pin connector? I found one on the forums and I'm hoping I can get it for $100 shipped, but we'll see. Just got an LSJ TB for $65 on ebay shipped from Modern Auto.

007... if you're good with soldering, just solder your injector wires together and cut the 8pin off of that and solder your tb wires to that the correct way and save yourself $$$... that's what i did

Soldering and welding are the two things I don't do well. I'm good with electrical work usually, just the soldering is ****...need to work on it. Actually never tried welding, but I'm sure I'm not good at it.

I did this too with the shorter links...now my sway bar makes a lot of noise.

Mine did...now it's all better...except for the fact I was a little lazy with the FE5 front sway...

The original sway brackets had one bolt and the back side slid into a spot on the frame...the larger FE5 brackets use two bolts...so I tightened the front bolts down and tested it out for a week checking it every so often...it holds and they aren't coming loose, but I need to get bolts in the back.

I know they offered a single bolt bracket before, but then they did some updates and what not and I can't find those now...I think when I used the part numbers for them, it linked to the newer ones...oh well.

But yeah, suspension just has a little bit of squeaking in corners...I think due to the sway bar/bushings. So I'm going to spray silicone in there and see if it stops...otherwise maybe it's the FE5 struts.

Hopefully I can upgrade to either coilovers or Powell's new setup when it eventually comes out.

Trying to watch for a decent price on Koni rears (new or used) and trying to watch for Koni fronts that are used that someone all ready put together because I don't feel like trying to hack and put them together. Plus the cost is too much for me new. I think the Koni rears with my FE5 struts would be pretty decent if I keep the rear somewhat soft.

Wednesday's I don't get home from work until at least 6 or 7. I drive all day for work, not about to go to Bloomington after work from up here.

Seriously though...I do fail...and I like it.
