Hey fellas. I'm looking into possibly moving to Minneapolis and was just curious on your thoughts and opinions on the area, from anyone who lives there or has been there a bunch. I might be taking a job in Eden Prairie, and am looking into moving into Minneapolis, because, well, I'm young and want a nice apartment in the city, close to everything. If you guys have any insights I would appreciate it!

Hey, Minneapolis is pretty nice, apartments are spendy. I personally like St.Paul over Minneapolis. Public trans. is pretty good, they are finishing up some lightrail train corridors that will be able to bring you all they way to st.paul and it will connect with a section that goes to MOA also.

Yeah they are pricey as hell. I'm just looking around at 1 bedrooms and trying to find something fairly nice that's not too far from everything. I've heard great things about the city, and I guess uptown is where most of the action is?

I work in EP there are a couple people that drive in from University area, Plymouth, EP itself is nice, and I'm in Burnsville. Although not right down town it's a bit cheaper expense wise and about 10-20 minute from DT in all of those areas.

Eagan for sure. Close to everything you'll need, public transit, lots of car people, 15 mins from eden prairie with little traffic,

well eden prairie can be expensive, but then again everywhere CAn be expensive. Mminneapolis is lame haha way to crowded for a night life (goin bar hoppin and stuff) id choose saint paul over all haha but ive been in saint paul since the day i was born. so thats just me,i know the neightborhood and what not.
eagan is nice,i wouldnt move there tho haha but thats just me,ive had plenty of friends live there without problems or anything.

of course,no matter where you go youre going to run into ghetto ***** and **** like that.

i work in EP and traffic sucks **** going from EP to Saint Paul.

it'd be nice to get another balt around town though! minnesota is a great state (it says were the land of 10,000 lakes but its more like the land of 10,000 laws) other than the sometimes long winters (like this winter) its not too bad IMHO.

I'll have to check out some apartments around Eagan and Eden Prairie. I would really love to live in the city but holy hell it's expensive.

i dont. some people do. i received a free car last summer and said **** it and parked the balt.

if you do take your job, youll definatly have to come out and play on the weekends at the street races. i never race unless its on the highway but its fun to watch people with pretty fast AND slow cars, run.

Yeah I'm not sure I would even keep the balt, I always got frustrated with it in the snow even in the mild PA winters and I can't imagine how pissed I would get driving it in real snow lol.

Also, St. Paul seems pretty nice as well, just a little further away from Eden Prairie.

The roads tend to be pretty well plowed in the winter unless its a bad storm. I drive the 5 all year. Good set of snow tires and you should be fine. And yes the races are always a good time. this weekend looks to be a loss for it though.
