PA guys with no cat converters

Are any PA guys running catless exhaust systems? If so, do you have problems with inspections? I'm going catless but I'm debating if I want to put on hollow catalytic converters or just leave it straight piped. Thoughts?

Bam, I know my mechanic really well and he basically slaps an inspection sticker on my car.

Agreed. Simple as that. Every car I've had my buddy's just slap stickers on them.

just put less than 5000 miles on it a year and you'll be emission test exempt

Or this then you don't have to worry about it. Unless whoever you take it to is real **** and looks under the car for a cat.

Certain counties do actual emissions testing though which will reveal a catless car.

if it's exempt they shouldn't even need to look at it, they just sniffer test it. i'm sure you can find the sketchiest shop in town and be ok as long as you have no codes

The town I live in is called MECHANICSburg. Literally there are none. They are all stand up quality shops that don't cut corners.

the normal PA inspection says to do a visual inspection like that. Some shops do, some don't

Around me the best place to take it is a deltasonic they miss half the stuff. The first thing I asked was if I failed. You wouldn't believe my amazement that I didn't, just left it there though and left with a smile.

I was catless at one time, and got inspected no problem.

They only check the gas cap and for CEL's where I go. My cat code is turned off.

I'm well aware but that doesn't mean there aren't any of those chain stores in Pennsylvania.

Im a tech at chevy/cadillac and you have to have a cat on there to pass legally. Its better to know someone if you wanted to go staight pipe. But some techs really dont look under the cars. Usually hole in the wall shops just slap stickers on. I wouldnt take it to the dealership for them to inspect it.
