Hey guys, sorry to invade your forum - Don't worry, I come in peace. Both of my parents were born and raised in New Castle and I'm a Steelers fan, don't let the fact that I live in NE Ohio fool you 
I bought it from a guy named Vince, he lives in Bethel Park, PA. It's a LBM 2006 SS/SC. It was mostly stock, when I bought it there was no muffler, don't know the story behind that, and it had gen 2 CCFL halo projectors. Here's a picture of it from the day I picked it up:
I was wondering if any of you might know of my car. It's got a really shady history, the guy I bought it from neglected to tell me about at least 2 accidents it was in before I bought it until I found out the rear axle was bent and started asking questions (notice how far back the passenger rear wheel is in the above picture? Don't know how I missed that while looking the car over. I have replaced the axle and everything seems to be ok with that situation). I guess he hit a curb and a guardrail, not sure if that was at the same time or different times. He won't answer any more questions about the car's past, a huge red flag. He told me after I bought the car that the passenger side was repainted, I have since found out that both sides of the car have been repainted (the SS door badge was on upside down, orange peel is worse than factory paint and tape lines inside the door jambs). I'm wondering what else I don't know about this car...
If any of you know of this car and or any history surrounding it or the previous owner (like why he would lie about the car's history to me), please let me know so that I know what else to look for. I'm trying to fix everything he dicked up and it will be a lot easier if I know what to look for.

why didnt you carfax it before you bought it.... its only like 30 bux for a one time thing, of course it only shows stuff that was reported to insurance, but it sounds like he spun out and banged up both sides of the car and the rear, or just generally drove like an ass hole.
He might of bailed cuz it was f'ed

I didn't get a carfax because I was stupid and trusted the guy for some reason, I never trust anyone any other time, I don't know why I believed when he said it had only been in one minor accident (which is why the hood/front bumper are a little messed up.

Yep. I research everything before I buy it, but I didn't this time and I got screwed because of it. I needed a car before fall semester started so I rushed into this. I went about a month with no car after I sold my GTP, I was looking for a wrx but didn't find one in time.

sorry to hear this man. im from pittsburgh and so are my rents and i always thought that most people would give you the dick like that. always use carfax. well worth it. good luck!

Just got a carfax on this car and guess what....it's clean!?!?
Seems like this guy didn't turn the car in to insurance to get it fixed at any point, even though he told me he did.

just bought my 09 and have a similar situation. thing is i bought it from a dealer. carfax was also clean! no surprise. I didn't notice the rear quarter panel was orange peeled until I got it home and washed it on the ONE sunny day we had. I called dealer and raised hell, and they told me the car was backed into. How nice of them to inform me of this before signing papers. Can't trust anyone! what a shame. Any updates on yours?
