I love my 235/40 18s. I got Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS all season performance tires installed by Costco with warranty. Love the handling, both on dry and wet pavement...

Stuffing some large tires

275 35 18s are getting stuffed in the back and 255 40 18 are already up front.
kdw's Goodrich Nice to see someone else in Portland area.

That wide of a tire might be good for summer, but it will drastically reduce your wet weather performance.

I can almost guarantee the contact patch won't be anywhere near what you think it is if you're running that wide on a stock wheel. Also, KDW's really aren't too sticky of a tire to be honest.

Yea it is a summer dry tire

I just like the tread design. And it is not even usable in cold weather. Great for dry weather and some damp weather. Don't even know if they will really fit. Might have to do some modification. 255 x40's worked just fine. Same diameter just half inch more on the inside and half inch more on the outside. We will see.

With smart driving those tires aren't bad when its wet actually. Decreased performance of course, but never any problems cruising at highway speeds.

with smart driving any tire can be good... define smart driving though, and are you really slapping wide @$$ tires on your car to drive smart?

I had 235/40 on SS T/C wheels and it rode like **** compared to the 215/45 on my SS SC wheels.

OEM size ftw.

If that weren't the exact same tire then those results are flawed. My 225/40/18 Continental DWS tires ride the best then my 225/45/17 Khumo Ecsta 4X tires ride bad with 235/40/18 BFGoodrich Sport Comp-2 tires riding about as bad.

225/40 on factory TC wheels couldn't get any traction till 3rd gear... 235/40 fixed that problem somewhat...

I wouldnt think your going to be running people in the rain or attempting full boost pulls with a wet road. But if you are then dont worry about the smart portion.

Normal driving in wet conditions the tires are fine. Dry they are amazing

If only someone made a RWD conversion for our cars...If the Hyundai Genesis R Coupe has RWD..same HP/Tourqe figure..then why can't we . Would make this whole tire thing way too much fun...plus our cars look better.
