transmission builder on here

Hey guys, looking to find a tranny builder that knows our transmissions.

First off, the transmission in the car does not have LSD, and first gear syncro went out.

2nd , I have a second transmission that has a cracked bellhousing, but everything inside is good including the LSD.

What i want to do is take the LSD, and gears etc out of the transmission with a bad bellhousing, and put it in the transmission with the good bellhousing.

If youve pulled these trannys apart, and know what your doing, let me know. And or if you have a shop that would do it for a reasonable price.

Willing to do up to a 5-6 hour road trip if the price of the labor is right.

How did you ruin syncros on a car with 3k on it?

user 72239 01-23-2015 01:15 PM

Car has 15k miles. Its not the original transmission. I swapped it out with one that was ''rebuilt'' . It never was, guy i bought it off on here lied. Original transmission was cracked on the car.

I never asked 12k for the car. It was 10k. And after its done, its going to be worth it. You'll see. Keep your trolling to yourself.

This. I called all the transmission shops in Vancouver wa. Only one said they would attempt to do it, and it would be $900 dollars.

I also talked to John at Powell and he even said thats a bit high.

Yeah different components but in the end they all have around the same thing you just gotta get more info for it to know what your looking at

No. You need special tools and there are additional specs and issues and you can ruin parts quick, i think Powell went into it in a thread

Send it to Powell or Performance Autowerks.

Your car will never be worth 10k. Period.

Because salvage.

/thread.

For what it's worth salvaged hurt cars value incredibly. We can do your transmissions but you would need to ship them here and we won't be the cheapest out there but the work will be correct and comes warranties for a year.

Omiotek has got an outstanding reputation in this forum not only for the quality of his labor and for the quality of the parts they have at the Autowerks' shop, but also (and I would say especially) for the custom made parts, such as interior work and powdercoating jobs etc etc.
When I will buy my LNF back, hopefully before the end of the summer, all my custom work such as gauge pods, powdercoating and other things, will get done by him. I will either ship the car to him or most likely just drive there. And I live in NY........
When I still had my LNF, I remember I also offered to buy him a plane ticket to come by me and to pay for his staying at a hotel so he could also take the chance to visit Manhattan. I was ready to cover all the expenses as long as he would come here to be the one doing the job, this is to explain how much I trust his hands on my car. After seeing his work, I don't trust anyone else.
