2008 SS/TC Springs (like new) - $90

Selling the front and rear springs off my SS/TC - with less than 100 miles on them, like new. These springs helped the SS pull off a .92 on the skid pad. Excellent cheap upgrade for the SS/SC.

SOLD!

Thx!

I'd imagine they'll lower the ls the same as the ss/sc springs, right?

I found the TC rode a little higher then a stock SS/SC for some reason. But it will drop an LS a little bit.

The spring rates are vastly different on the TC and this is considered an upgrade. The ride height - comparing my friends SC to mine is damn near the same.

will these drop my ride? I know they are an upgrade performance wise. Just curious about the fender gap I have.

There is a GM write up somewhere that has the spring rates, etc. And although the drop is probably minimal, the rates are definitely different. GM used the KW methodology and went with high spring rates and lower dampening rates for a European feel. Performance wise it paid off as well.

Thanks for everyone sticking up for the TCs. The fights are getting out of hand on here.

anyways, were spamming up this for sale thread.

Good luck with the sale,
and i think just a small amount of proof showing that the spring actually is an upgrade for an ss/sc,
is a quite valid request, it would certainly help your sale.

Its been written about extensively that GM went with stiffer springs and softer dampers with the TC. Do your own research, if you like.

if its been written about so extensively, and its "30% stiffer than an ss/sc"
then why have so few people heard of it?
lets have some articles!

(searching myself right now)

so far ive found:

*Nürburgring-tuned FE5 Sport suspension
*30-percent stiffer springs (found this, but stiffer than what? it doesnt say?)
*27 N/mm linear coil springs (looking for an ss/sc comparable stat...)
*The SS Supercharged’s standard FE5 suspension ---interesting.....

cant find any spring rates, and i gotta head to work.
anyone know specific spring rates for the ss/sc FE5 coils?

Whatever the rates of the SC are.. add 30% to that, and you have the upgraded TC springs. Again, these are new, and a deal for those looking to get more grip and body control.

Ive done alot of digging, and what i can report, is indeed the T/C parts ARE apparently FE5 suspension parts, BUT they have been tuned "stiffer" for the TC.

now the question becomes.....are these stiffer settings beneficial to the ss/sc?
as remember, it was also tuned on that same famous racetrack....

So one has to ask, if stiffer springs would help the ss/sc, why wasnt it done during its special time at the ring?

I think it leaves two possibilities....

1. Technology improvements, and more extensive testing, has lead the engineers to find a better suspension setup, that could benefit the ss/sc

or

2. The SS/tc is different enough, that it benefitted from the stiffer ride setup, that doesnt necessarily mean that the ss/sc would benefit in the same way.

annnnnyways. ill stop cluttering up the thread now
good luck with the sale.
