G85 5 speed manual price
What are good G85 manuals going for?
I'm picking up an engine / subframe this weekend and don't need the tranny but will leave it on if they resell easily.

I sold a lower mileage lsd one for $750 plus shipping. They aren't real plentiful due to so many breaking 3rd gear. I would get it and bring it home. There are a few guys who rebuild them. The small parts are still available but things like cases and gears are not made and have to be sourced from a good trans.

I'll add it to my list but will need to sell it ASAP as I need the money for engine parts.
5-speed Saab F35 manual / MU3 / G85 RPO
Was the F23 Getrag a better 5 speed than the F35 SAAB?

the F35 is crap compared to the F23.

Can you elaborate? Something that could be beefed up?
I have rebuild plenty of transverse Manuals and Auto's I wouldn't be afraid to go through it should it have issues.
Found a GM video on the F23 and there are a ton of special tools. Plenty of videos on the F35 SAAB

I dont have any hard evidence. just anecdotal evidence.
The F35 has been reported to flex on high torque loads, which in turn causes 3rd gear (most commonly) to break. With a supercharger you dont generate the instant torque that turbos usually do. so the trans doesn't break as much as the turbo guys do.
I know lnfwagonss was/is making a fix for this with internal case modifications.

The F35 requires some odd and special tools to crack open and reseal without damaging the internals, I forget the specifics maybe LNFwagon or John Powell will chime in. It was an old SAAB transmission way more complex than the F23.
The F23 bust it open and fix whats needed if you've taken apart other auto or manual transmissions you'll be fine.

WIKI isn't exactly accurate on this:
2005-2007 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged (MC2)
2008-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Turbocharged (MU3)
The 07 Supercharged can have the MU3
Some good Info: https://genuinesaab.com/psi/gearbox.htm

They're both variations of the F35 though, the MC2 is a 4.05FD and the MU3 is a 3.82FD right?
From what i have read, yes
I thought that no supercharged cobalts came with a 3.82FD.
The MU3 I am picking up is in an 07 Supercharged SS
I was meaning for the user asking about F23 transmissions since they are used in a lot.

there is an MU3 4.05FD

The HHR SS used that. it could be swapped

Well..I did add the transmission to my list so I picked up the whole Powertrain / Drivetrain, wiring harness, PCM and fuse box.
Now I need to find a new home for this stuff as I just needed the Supercharger components but found it easier to drop the cradle and take it all that way. Got a new radiator that was just replaced, heat exchanger and fan assembly but was hoping it had the SS radiator but was replaced with a non SS radiator. There is a significant difference in the core width on the SS radiator vs non SS.
