My door got hit with a ball hitch last August. Got a used door paint it balck and that was 1300 bucks. So for all that im saying 3-4k+ unless u get on ebay and find the parts in blue. The insurance company is gonna total it i feel the thing about these cars the value isnt high so any real damage like that get totaled. I hope im wrong but it depends on the company. Sorry man i fear deer every night lol i live where this 1 road is pitch black for 5 miles deer love it ive dodge about 3 super close calls in the few years.

Thanks man. I've been pretty lucky. I've lived in the country all my life and never hit anything. Just wish I hit this deer with my winter beater!!! I hope it looks like factory again when it's done. That's my biggest concern.

I have a lot of deer around where I live as well.

They are out in full force now that it's fall. I see dead ones on the side of the road daily.

Buy oem panels and such, go to a good body shop, and she should look good as new.

I agree! Good call! My Balt is my summer car anyways. A sky or solstice would be so much fun with 500whp haha. The only thing I hate is convertible. Would need a hard top kit.

RWD FTW indeed

Back on topic, I don't think many people in here have had professional body and paint work done judging by the prices people seem to be tossing out . Not to mention, he isn't going to want a $500 paint job either . My guess is this is going to be a $4k or more repair bill.

Well I'll tell you that at almost 400 whp it's a lot of fun. The aftermarket hard tops are $1-1.5k so it's not improbable.

By no means it's going to be 500, I'm sure it will hit the 4k easy. I'm saying in mexico for me it's a 10 minute drive and I'm at Mexico I've seen it done so many times so im well familiar with it.

Good thing is the cars aren't terribly expensive.... Just looking in my area think the most expensive one was like 16k but had like 22k miles on it. But good luck finding a manual one sooo many come automatic.

Or you can get a high mileage 2.4 and build a forged turbo motor for it. I've seen those as low as 5-7k

I think if I must get a new summer car I'm gonna step away from the 4 bangers. I'm 32, it's time for a 32 year old type car lmao

If a person really wanted to make one ***** to the wall, short of finding one with an already grenaded engine for cheap, their best bet would be to get a high mileage 2.4 just like you said. The main differences between the 2.4 and gxp/redline is the engine, rear diff gearing, coilovers, front fascia, and a couple of badges.
