as for the frame rail there was a base model parked right in front of my car that we were comparing the frame rail to :P and it is definitely bent.
Oh i have no doubt its bent, but to what degree is the more important thing. lol Sometimes if its only a few degrees out they wont even bother pulling it. All depends on how it measures out. The fender pulling away I dont think is directly related to the frame bending, your not bent that badly i dont think. I think thats more from the way it was hit and the direction of the stress caused it to pull away. That's good that your confident about where its goin for repair though, just stop in every so often and see how they are doing with the repairs, make sure they are fixing it properly and not trying to cut corners.

im good friends with they guy, hes the one that took these pictures, ha, and ya i think most of the fender bending is from the headlights pushing into it, the drivers side one is bent aswell...

Yeh, thats completely normal, I would expect that from one of the primary crush zones on the front end, frame rails which run by the crank pulley are what are the primary concern. I think your ok in that respect, from any crippling damage that would prevent the car from being repaired. You can kinda see from this picture how the strut tower interacts with the frame rail and why that part that the fender hangs on can very easily **** the bed in an accident.

Ya well. It will probably be another week before they can tear it down and see if there's anything hiding under the bumper and panels. Haven't even looked under the car yet

If you are on good terms with the shop, just talk it over with them, tell them your really trying to prevent the car from being totaled but you want to make sure you have enough to repair it fully. Sometimes shops can "exaggerate" damage to get extra money out of adjusters, but that goes both ways too. Did they add many mechanical components to the estimate?

Pretty sire the added the rad and possibly intercooler. They'll probably do a final estimate once they get it in the air. Its a fairly busy shop

Well im hopin for the best for you so that I dont have to call shotgun on your big brake conversion. :p Google "vehicle diminished value" and see if you qualify for it in your state, could help bring in some extra cash if your car does get fixed in a manner that is not otherwise "back to oe specs" because of the way its hit. We had issues with state farm when my buddys GTO got rear ended and he wound up getting a 1500 dollar diminished value check because they wouldnt replace the damaged parts with OEM parts because it had to be imported from australia. (****** holdens)

I know mine was approved for a 5k repair and it ended up going to 7.5k where it would have definately have been totaled but it was already approved so work kept going. I'd be willing to bet the same thing could be done here. The drivers side frame rail was crunched a little and they bought a complete new piece.
