M62 supercharged Neon(Yea Neon)
Thought this was interesting.Guy used the Cobalt M62 blower and intake manifold.Pretty crazy.Look at the valve cover though.Did they ever make a factory supercharged neon? The VC sats 2.4 S/C
Neon 2.4L Eaton M62 Supercharged; New cams! Brian Crower stage 4 - YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VqcmZ1x6mE |
Looks slow.
|
oooooh k.anyone else? lol
|
lol same thought as perfect.disguise. I was like oh its not that fast. That was when I thought it had a 160 mph gauge and not a 120.
not saying just cuz a 160 says higher number its faster but saying that its climbing up a 120 mph gauge very slowly and those are spread out pretty far in between mph. 160 mph would be closer together making it look even slower. i think? lol |
Sounds right.I just thought it was quite interesting he used the cobalt blower and intake manifold.
|
Another thing I am noticing. He only has 1 coolant tank which would be for the engine. I don't think he's using the intercooling system which means he is heat soaking the piss out of it.Makes sense why it's so slow.I bet with the IC system hooked up and working properly it would be a tad quicker.I'd love to see how much KR this thing has lol
|
I think its pretty cool.
|
I did as well.Something you don't see to often.
|
sounded like he drove over the wakeup strip on the highway. cool in it's own way..
the NOS button is pimp too! but yes it's slow lol |
huh, thats very interesting, fast or not. kudos to that guy for doing this! i love seeing our sc's on hondas and stuff, because they usually wind the piss out of them to 12k or something lol.

This is probly the one modern performance built
|
Well seeing as how he had to notch the front upper support member just to clear the pulley, I would love to see how he runs a hood on that thing.

Look behind the engine.. The tank beside the blower inlet is for the I/M.

Car would have been alot faster with just a stock srt-4 turbo.
You can take a Stratus 2.4L from a junk yard (I can get them for 150 here) Throw in a set of Srt-4 rods/pistons (150 used with new rings) and throw down 290+whp 370+ftlbs in a car that weighs under 2500lbs full interior. |
Doesn't look that slow to me??
|
Perfect disguise drives a 11 sec neon so everything is slow to him that is 13 sec or slower lol
|
very interesting. props for originality

That 102trap was on a built SOHC with 9.2:1 compression. So I stand behind the first car in question being slower than a 100mph trap. haha |
Hmm odd but cool
|
Also note one car is red, other is black. Haha..
|
Whats weird about that video is that during the burn out of the Neon you dont hear the whine of the blower but as it lets off you can hear what sounds like an HKS BOV. Unless they caught the sound of another car doing a burn out at the same time or the video and audio are out of synch, it seems weird.

We had an Evo guy stop by on RLFs looking for the measurements of the IM to do a possible twincharged setup. Its not that big of deal to cut off the flange on the IM and weld in a new one that fits a different application.
