G5 fascias start life as Cobalt fascias, and are modified at factory. PROOF:

that is interesting. I bet they save a bunch of money doing that (only one die a the manufacturer of the front facia), plus they probably just recycle the plastic.

****, not like the plastic is gonna rust, so they don't even need to finish at the cut...

They make such a relatively low number of G5's compared to Cobalts... it only makes sense.

Now I wish I would have looked more into my idea of a G5 grille on the Cobalt. I didn't think it was just add-on stuff over the Cobalt bumper.

maybe its just on the new model g5 (2009) and the older ones had their own mold... since gm did alot of cost cutting lately with no 2.4 and all that jazz... just more money in their pocket now right.
