06 passenger axle longer than stock?
I have a 06 ss/sc recently had control arms and hubs replaced as well as passenger side axle. Since then the car has popped the boot off 2 brand new axles. Comparing the old one to the new and it is about 2 inches longer than the new ones. I have tried 3 different vendors with no luck. What am I missing here? It's the fe5 suspension and mu3 trans

The boot end closest to the transmission comes off if you hit a decent bump. Badly paved overpass on the way to work has caused it to happen twice now. Comparing the old axle to the replacements it's slightly longer. What else could cause this?

Poor reman axle that isn't the same as the correct version for your car? The axles should have some in-out play but if it's noticeably two inches shorter you've got a bum reman.
Which brand remans are you using? Sometimes one company will do the remans and they'll be sold under different house brands at auto part stores. Maybe you're getting a Saab axle that's technically right for the trans but not the model application or something.

I guess I'm gonna go through the dealer and hope this will remedy the issue cuz as of now the car is sitting with the old axle in it. I've been letting my mechanic deal with it as I have been swamped at work, not sure which brands he tried but he insisted it was 3 different ones. Just seems odd that they all had the same problem.
