09 LNF A/C Woes
Low side pressure is 35psi at 80 degrees outside.
Compressor comes on (clutch grabs) and shuts off within 5 seconds. It stays off for about 15-30 seconds and then kicks on for another 5 before repeating this process.
Where is the high pressure switch?
System will not take any freon even though the low side pressure is low.

This will help almost no one, but I wil update anyways.
When I put the gauges on my car to check the pressures there was a can of refrigerant on them; it was off, I thought. The valve no longer sealed and while I was checking it was putting more product in my system. I had too much which is why it was kicking off. I drained a little bit of it off and my A/C works perfect again.
FYI, the Cobalt's refrigerant system CAN BE OVER FILLED! Most modern cars cannot as they will only take what they need; this is not the case for us. If you need a recharge, have a pro do it and do not use one of the off the shelf can systems.

I figured this out the other day on my 06 sc. I had put in a full can to recharge and it was still on the warm side so I figured I would add some more in. Well managed to over fill it and had to use a screwdriver to release some of the freon. Good times - it's nice and cold now.
