2009 Pontiac g5 (2.2) won't start

Hi. My daughter borrowed my g5 to run some errands. The car ran fine until she tried to start the car from the last of her errands. The car made no noise whatsoever when she tried to start it. AAA could not start the car via jumping it nor by "pop-starting" the car (it is a 5 speed with 61,000 miles). AAA towed it to Monro. They do a good job with inspections and basic maintenance but are at a loss. They said it's not the starter, definitely not the alternator, but they think it might be the throttle control module. Does this make sense?

Unfortunately I'm 200 miles away on vacation right now so my contact with Monro is limited to phone calls. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!

Check for codes and report back

hit the fuel tank with something (hammer, 2x4, etc) and see if it will start. if it does, the fuel pump is dead. past that, scan for codes.

Hi. I called Monro again. The guy said there were no codes. The battery is definitely working; there are lights. I suggested the fuel pump "test" but he said it wasn't that either. He will have someone else check it tomorrow but he thinks it's the Body Control Module.

Based our your experience, is that a possibility? Is there a recall on those? They seem pricey: approx. $450 on ebay for remanufactured BCM!!!

Update: It was only the battery!!

I'm shocked that AAA and Monro both missed this.

I spent $134.95 for a 30 month GM battery + $24.95 installation + tax; not bad from the Chevy dealer. Their quoted price was $20 higher but I found an online special from GM that they honored.

Paying a dealer to change your battery? You cray my friend.

Ha ha I know I'm crazy. Also, unfortunately I'm probably the least mechanically minded person on this forum. However, the people at Monro had me convinced it was the BCM; therefore I had it towed to the dealer.

It's all good I realize you didn't know it was the battery before it was their. Did Monro even test the battery?

They said they checked the battery, starter, alternator, etc.
AAA also tried to jump start the car without success.
I'm just happy I'm back on the road with only $160 out of pocket.
