2nd gear

Well when I got this car at 15,000 miles the 2nd gear occasionally would grind no matter how much i pressed the clutch down. 13,000 miles later it is getting worse to the point it is taking some force to push it in to gear and if I downshift while braking it sometimes pops out of 2nd.

1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and reverse are fine

Just that damn 2nd gear.

Anyone know if I should be saving for transmission (ewww)
new clutch (not so bad)
or something a bit easier like a syncro?

Thanks!

A local SC owner Terry (ecotecon18s) I believe had the same problem and his was 2nd gear syncro. Warranty should cover it.

the start would have been a bad syncro, now its likley a synco, gear, shift sleeve and fork.

28000 miles, isnt it under warrenty still???

mine does pretty much the same thing but it hasnt got bad to the point where i felt like i needed to take it into the dealer, (figured it was my clutch) but maybe i should take it in b4 my warranty runs out
