50 amp fuse by battery blown

so i'm coming home this afternoon and the car just dies out of nowhere, im about 1/4 mile from my house so it's not too bad. the dash had power but when you turn the key the starter wouldn't even try to engage. it turned out to be the 50 amp fuse on the negative battery cable in the trunk. i wouldn't have even thought to check there but i made a quick call to CJ Krause who did my trifecta tune for me, and he suggested i check there. replaced the fuse and everything worked, he also suggested i open the fuse tray in the engine compartment and check that they're all secure in their connections as well. several of those fuses were only partially pushed in so possibly that was the cause of the large fuse in the trunk blowing. if anyone has had this problem and has found another cause post your findings. i'll be going over the entire car this weekend looking for loose connections and any sign of faults in the wire loom.

Hii

In your situation with the blown fuse with no crank do you remember if the fuel pump also would not prime when turning to the on position? My fuse is also blown wondering if I'm getting too excited about getting a new fuse or not

If a 50AMP maxi fuse blew you have something wrong, this isn't the typical 5/10 amp mini fuse that runs everything else in the car. That took a major electrical fault to blow.
